About The Position
The Flex Clinical Staff member provides patient care according to the needs of the patient population and within the rules and regulations of their scope of practice. The role also includes managing daily office operations. The position reports to the Operations Manager and works in an office setting during the hours the clinic is available to patients and families.
Requirements
- Education as an LPN or CMA through an approved program.
- Current Illinois licensure as an LPN or CMA certification.
- CPR certification in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines, required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to assume accountability and responsibility for one's own practice and delegated work.
Responsibilities
- Obtain medical information, chief complaints, vital signs, and diagnostic test results in preparation for physician examinations, and document them in the medical record.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatment by handing instruments, providing dressings, and preparing equipment in accordance with Infection Control Policy.
- Administer provider-prescribed care and treatments within scope of practice.
- Support continuity of care by entering orders, scheduling tests and procedures, relaying results to providers and patients as appropriate, making referrals, and obtaining prior authorizations or certifications as needed.
- Advocate for patients by protecting their rights and attending to service complaints.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to performance standards, including the dress code.
- Maintain confidentiality for patients and staff.
- Maintain knowledge through appropriate educational programs and current journals and literature, and document this for yearly evaluation.
- Comply with Springfield Clinic incident reporting policies and procedures.
- Follow OSHA and Springfield Clinic training and accomplishment requirements as required by policy.
- Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
- Orient new personnel to the specialty.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
