Fleet Vehicle Mechanic
About The Position
Wyoming Fleet / Auto Services is hiring a Fleet Vehicle Mechanic in Casper, Wyoming. This day-shift role is scheduled Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work and open availability for early mornings. The hourly pay is $30 to $40, depending on experience (DOE). The mechanic will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles and equipment, and verify performance through test drives. The role also involves maintaining service records, managing shop equipment and parts inventory, controlling service costs, and communicating effectively with clients. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, accountable, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with a diverse vehicle fleet, including gas- and diesel-powered vehicles and medium-duty diesel vehicles, is sought. Field inspections and repairs may take place in various weather conditions.
Requirements
- GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proven experience as a mechanic.
- Self-motivated and accountable.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with a diverse fleet of vehicles, including gas- and diesel-powered vehicles and medium-duty diesel vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle and equipment condition.
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules and inspections to keep equipment available for use.
- Repair or replace vehicle components and systems to correct deficiencies.
- Conduct test drives to verify vehicle performance and adjust controls and systems as necessary.
- Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements.
- Keep detailed records of services and repairs.
- Manage shop equipment, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Control costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and part options.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and parts.
- Provide excellent customer service, including communicating effectively with clients about their vehicles.
- Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
- Be prepared to conduct field inspections and repairs in various weather conditions.
