About The Position

The Mechanic will assist the Capital Projects Director by managing the upkeep and repair of all company vehicles and equipment at NVE. This position is crucial for maintaining optimal machinery functionality and improving organizational productivity.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record in accordance with the company’s auto insurance policy requirements.
  • Required to submit to a background check and follow the NVE Tribe’s drug policies.

  • Certification in diesel mechanics or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing mechanical problems in diesel engines with advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Performing routine maintenance such as oil changes and inspections.
  • Executing complex repairs, including engine overhauls and system replacements.
  • Strictly follow all safety regulations and industry standards throughout all work.
  • Keep detailed, organized records of maintenance and repairs to monitor fleet performance and aid in future budgeting.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on company vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel engines and related systems.
  • Perform necessary adjustments and replacements of parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure vehicle availability and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Works safely in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Immediately reports unsafe conditions, hazards, or injuries to HR or the designated safety contact.
  • Attends all mandatory special events, meetings, and trainings.
  • Assists with special events, meetings, and trainings as necessary.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintains awareness and sensitivity to various cultures.
  • Embodies Tribal values throughout all work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
