About The Position
Acadian Ambulance Service has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Mechanic to work in its Dallas, Texas shop. The Fleet Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on ambulance vehicles and other company vehicles. The position involves working with shop employees and supervisors and driving vehicles. The job description is a general description of essential duties and requirements and may be subject to change. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Clean driving record.
- Current driver’s license.
- Two to three years of mechanical experience; on-the-job training is available.
- Mechanical knowledge, reading, writing, speaking, and hand-tool and specialized-tool use.
- Have basic hand tools.
Nice To Haves
- Diesel mechanic experience.
- Related training from G.M. or other schools, trade or otherwise.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair company vehicles.
- Perform preventive maintenance on the ambulance fleet and other company vehicles.
- Write work tickets.
- Perform mechanical-related repairs.
- Work with shop employees and supervisors.
- Perform electrical repairs.
- Drive vehicles.
