About The Position

Modernistic is hiring a Fleet Mechanic for its Troy, Michigan location. The role combines fleet and facility maintenance, including preventative vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections to keep vehicles operating well and at showroom standards, as well as minor building repairs and upkeep. The ideal candidate is self-starting, motivated, organized, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment. The posting offers pay of $27.00–$29.00 per hour.

Requirements

Three or more years of automotive repair experience preferred.
One or more years of building or facility maintenance experience preferred.
Valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record.
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
Ability to move and lift 50 pounds or more.
Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct repairs.
Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime when needed.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Diagnose vehicles using observations, mechanical testing, and information provided by Technicians.
Perform major and minor electrical and mechanical vehicle repairs.
Perform fluid changes, lubrication, safety inspections, and DOT-required brake repairs.
Perform building maintenance tasks and repairs.
Respond to field Technicians’ service calls and assist with off-site vehicle and equipment troubleshooting.
Collaborate with the team regarding repairs and fleet status.
File appropriate documentation for each repair.
Maintain mechanical knowledge of company vehicles and equipment.
Communicate with the Logistics Manager regarding the fleet.
Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
