About The Position

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment. Diagnose and repair basic tractor and semi-trailer mechanical issues to minimize vehicle downtime. Perform semi-trailer repairs and maintenance, including doors, lighting, wiring, suspension components, landing gear, and other trailer-related systems. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and identify potential maintenance or safety concerns before they become major issues. Perform basic preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, lubrication, and other scheduled maintenance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts used, and service history. Maintain an organized inventory of parts, tools, and supplies and communicate when replacements are needed. Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and aftermarket components as needed. Coordinate with fleet and operations personnel to prioritize repairs and return equipment to service as efficiently as possible. Perform other general fleet maintenance and repair duties as needed.

Requirements

  • General understanding of semi-truck and trailer mechanical systems.
  • Formal diesel mechanic training or certification is a plus, practical hands-on experience is highly valued.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a similar role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining or repairing tractors, semi-trailers, or other heavy-duty fleet equipment.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Hydraulic systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and replace brake components, including brake chambers, slack adjusters, drums, and related components.

  • Perform semi-trailer repairs and maintenance, including doors, lighting, wiring, suspension components, landing gear, and other trailer-related systems.
  • Inspect, repair, and replace air lines and related air system components.
