About The Position

Under limited supervision, this temporary position involves performing daily tasks related to fleet maintenance and repair. The role may require explaining instructions and documentation, coordinating the movement of materials and equipment, completing and reviewing records, maintaining tools and equipment, and performing cleanup activities. The job may require moderate to heavy lifting and adherence to all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Automotive Certification such as EPA 608
  • Manufacture(s) Certification(s) Specific Make/Models
  • Capable of being exposed to dusty, hot/cold/wet conditions (snow-rain)
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, elevated walkways, and walk, stand, stoop for extended periods of time, enter tight congested areas to include awkward position
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. single person – 80 lbs. w/two persons.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on Personnel Lifts, Club Car Passenger / Utility Carts, Club Car Villager 4 Passenger/ Utility Carts.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on Tennant Shop Tools & Equipment, and Tennant Sweeper.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on Electric, Diesel, and Gas Material Handling Equipment.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on Toyota, Hyster, Materials Handling Equipment. Drexel SLT30 EZ-GO Industrial Carts.
  • Performs Small Engine repairs and Battery Maintenance.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance and/or repairs on Ford F-150 and Chevrolet 3500 Pick-up Trucks.
  • Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating parts.
  • Diagnoses and identifies malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment.
  • Inspects, repairs, and replaces defective or worn parts.
  • Tests major components, such as engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems to determine repair/replacement method.
  • Disassembles and reassembles various components.
  • Travels to worksites to repair various mobile equipment.
  • Performs automotive and light duty truck diagnosis and repairs.
  • Makes necessary repairs beyond minor.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical system, cooling system, braking system, fuel system (gasoline / propane) and steering system.
  • Operates in a safe manner drill press, engine tune-up meters, lap-top computers and related shop equipment.
  • Operates electrical test equipment used in the repair and diagnosis of electrical components.
  • Operates and drives all mentioned equipment.
  • Performs light duty maintenance on Forklifts, Volvo L180H and John Deere 744K Heavy Front End Loaders (remove/replace air filters, grease, engine oil/filter changes, change fuel filters, clean fuel injectors, maintain hydraulic filters/fluids, all lighting/lighting signals).
