About The Position

Bird is seeking a Fleet Manager to partner with its Operations Team and local City Operations Manager to manage a dedicated fleet of e-scooters in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The role involves keeping vehicles maintained and deployed to meet community transportation needs. The Fleet Manager uses mobile technology to monitor, transport, rebalance, and maintain vehicles, supporting a safe and environmentally friendly fleet while meeting or exceeding target KPIs.

This is an independent contractor position, not an employee role. The contractor manages their own schedule and workload to meet Bird’s operational needs and is responsible for providing their own tools, equipment, and associated work expenses.

Requirements

• Have a registered business LLC.
• Have general liability insurance, or be able to acquire it within 30 days of onboarding.
• Have general commercial auto insurance, or be able to acquire it within 30 days of onboarding.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Have access to a reliable vehicle for work-related duties.
• Have strong knowledge of the local geography.
• Be flexibly available and willing to work daily, including weekends.
• Be comfortable learning and adapting to new concepts and using new tools.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stoop, bend, walk, and stand for long periods.
• Be self-motivated, energetic, and driven, with the ability to learn new skills and build a team.
• Be able to simplify difficult problems into actionable and solvable tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fleet operations, including charging, deploying, relocating, and retrieving vehicles.
• Prioritize tasks and solve problems and obstacles as they arise.
• Take initiative, be resourceful, and work effectively without supervision.
• Repair and refurbish vehicles to ensure they are deployed and ready to ride.
• Use mobile technology to monitor, transport, rebalance, and maintain vehicles.
• Meet or exceed fleet health and operational target KPIs.
