About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lowell is hiring a Companion Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Fayetteville, Lowell, Springdale, and Johnson. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity, providing companionship and assistance tailored to each client’s needs and abilities. The role requires readiness to respond quickly to medical emergencies and to report health changes or unusual circumstances.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion and interest in providing meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, attending medical appointments, and taking walks.
Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
