About The Position
We are looking for caregivers interested in learning and growing their skills within the senior care industry. Companion Caregivers are expected to be reliable, dependable, honest, compassionate, and caring. They provide companionship and assist clients with personal care, household tasks, meals, medication reminders, transportation, and safe-care education for family members.
Requirements
- Treat clients with dignity and respect.
- Interpret the client’s provided plan of care.
- Have a valid driver’s license and transportation.
- Be flexible and adapt to new situations.
- Tolerate small pets, such as dogs and/or cats.
- Be reachable by phone or email for shift schedules, client updates, and/or emergencies.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and conversation.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, and feeding.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry and linen changing.
- Lay out clothes and assist clients with dressing.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Provide transportation to and from appointments.
- Help family members learn safe care techniques.
