Requirements

  • Experience managing a fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance, repair, licensing, and replacement of the company's vehicle and heavy equipment fleet.
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules to maximize fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor fleet utilization, operating costs, fuel consumption, and maintenance expenses.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and roadside service as needed.
  • Manage fleet records, inspections, registrations, warranties, and maintenance history.
  • Evaluate fleet replacement schedules and recommend capital investments.
  • Direct preventative and corrective maintenance for all company facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Oversee repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, lighting, security systems, and general building infrastructure.
  • Coordinate facility inspections as required, working closely with Safety and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with safety, fire codes, ADA requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop long-term facility maintenance and capital improvement plans.
  • Manage facility renovations, remodeling projects, and contractor activities.
  • Ensure company buildings present a safe, clean, and professional environment for associates and customers.
  • Assist with development and administration of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor maintenance expenses, labor costs, contractor expenditures, and assets.
  • Analyze maintenance trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Approve invoices, purchase orders, and equipment purchases.
  • Ensure departmental financial performance aligns with organizational goals.
  • Select, negotiate, and manage relationships with maintenance contractors, equipment vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Evaluate contractor performance based on quality, responsiveness, safety, and cost.
  • Maintain service agreements and contracts while ensuring vendor compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate warranty work and vendor-supported maintenance services.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of fleet assets, facilities, maintenance equipment, and tools.
  • Implement, maintain, and manage asset tracking and maintenance management systems.
  • Monitor equipment life cycles and recommend replacement strategies.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of supplies and repair parts.
  • Work closely with Safety and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations for both company fleet and facility assets and operations.
  • Conduct facility and fleet safety inspections.
  • Maintain required documentation, permits, certifications, and maintenance records.
  • Develop preventative maintenance strategies and processes that reduce downtime and extend asset life, while working within budget.
  • Utilize maintenance metrics and KPIs to improve operational performance.
  • Recommend technology solutions to improve maintenance efficiency and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Professional Services, Safety, Finance, and Location Management on facility and fleet initiatives.
