Provide drivers with necessary support during evening and/or weekend hours so that drivers can deliver loads safely and on time. This role is responsible for driver satisfaction and addressing issues and disputes for drivers. The dispatcher will answer incoming phone calls, live chats, and emails to assist drivers with delays, service issues, trailers, payroll, and whatever else they may need. They will fuel and route drivers while promoting safety, dispatch necessary resources (driver, truck, trailer) to take care of immediate issues, and resolve driver issues utilizing critical thinking skills to solve out-of-the-box problems. The dispatcher will monitor loads and resolve issues that may affect scheduled delivery/pickup times, proactively inform customer accounts and/or customers of changes, and resolve load targets to ensure on-time delivery. Communication with Customers, Operations Drivers, and all levels of leadership is key. The role also involves responding to drivers and other terminal needs, assisting with emergency situations, understanding and supporting company policies, and ensuring drivers remain productive by managing accurate PTAs, providing trailer solutions, planning BPMs and required appointments, helping keep CDLs in order, and managing home time guidelines. Proactively working to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives is also a responsibility.
