Fleet Coordinator (Backhaul Broker)
About The Position
The Fleet Coordinator (Backhaul Broker) analyzes the delivery network to find and execute shipments that meet current business objectives by improving utilization of drivers, tractors, and trailers. The role ensures costs and margins comply with company protocol. The coordinator tracks and traces shipments, keeps all parties informed of changes, and resolves issues that arise during daily shipment execution. The role also involves timely preparation and inspection of documentation required for delivery completion and financial reporting, as well as accurate and timely data entry in applicable systems. Strong negotiation skills are required.
Requirements
- Two to five years of experience in transportation, warehouse operations, and/or supply chain.
- Knowledge of the transportation industry, wholesale grocery operations, for-hire transportation, and procurement.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, and analytical skills.
