About The Position

The NYC Department of Buildings is responsible for ensuring the safe and lawful use of buildings and properties by enforcing the NYC Construction Codes, Energy Code and Zoning Resolution. Asset Management is responsible for the management of facilities, fleet, materials, office services, and space planning. The Fleet Administration team within Asset Management is responsible for the following: - Tracking vehicle utilization and assignments - Tracking vehicle maintenance reports - Maintaining vehicle registrations, inspections, and other DMV-required documentation - Acting as liaison with Department of Finance, resolving and dispositioning parking and moving violations - Preparing fleet purchase requests - Reviewing and auditing EZPass usage - Coordinating Department of Transportation permit allocations and requests - Reviewing and submitting all vehicle accident and incident reports into the Department of Citywide Administrative Services CRASH database - Tracking mileage logs - Assisting in the preparation of the Fleet Budget - Coordination of Agency WEX Card (gas pin) assignments - Managing the Agency Zip Car Account - Monitoring expenses and budget related to all Fleet activity, including but not limited to Fuel, Maintenance, EZPass, Zipcar, and Employee Personal Expense Reimbursement The Intern will assist Fleet Administration with projects, including, but not limited to, EZPass utilization audits, conducting and documenting physical inspections of Agency vehicles, analyzing vehicle accident reports, and monitoring expenses. Please note that this position does not involve any mechanical repairs, installations, etc.

Requirements

  • Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school.
  • Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study (for Assignment Level II).
  • Specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study (for Assignment Level III).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Fleet Administration with projects, including, but not limited to, EZPass utilization audits, conducting and documenting physical inspections of Agency vehicles, analyzing vehicle accident reports, and monitoring expenses.
