About The Position

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated Fixture Designer willing to learn powertrain testing activities and work on complex engine, transmission, and axle test designs. The role designs powertrain system-level and component-level test fixtures using Catia v.5 and SDRC Ideas, creates detailed assembly and fixture drawings using Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and stores CAD data in Teamcenter (TCe), including creating top-down and bottom-up assemblies.

Requirements

Two years of training at a vocational training school or two years of college with courses relevant to drafting or engineering principles, plus at least four years of experience; additional relevant education may substitute for a portion of the progressive experience.
Knowledge of drafting equipment and drafting principles, including descriptive geometry, lettering, dimensioning, layout, and detail.
General working knowledge of shop processes associated with fixture design.

Nice To Haves

Ability to perform CAE and FEA analysis in Catia v.5.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience designing powertrain system-level and component-level test fixtures using Catia and SDRC Ideas.
Experience creating detail drawings of assemblies and fixtures using GD&T.
Experience storing CAD data in Teamcenter and creating top-down and bottom-up assemblies.
