About The Position

This position is for a Fixed Route Local Driver with Valley Metro. The role may require working at either the Mesa, AZ or Tempe, AZ locations. A $2,250 sign-on bonus is being offered for CDL or CDL permit holders with passenger and air brakes endorsements. This is a full-time position only.

Requirements

• Must be minimum 21 years of age
• 3 years verifiable valid Driver's license
• A Valid Arizona Class A or Class B CDL or CDL Permit (REQUIRED)
• Must have clean driving record for the last 7 years
• Must be able to pass a 10-year criminal background check
• Must have stable work history
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include split shifts, late nights, weekends, and holidays
• Experience working with the public
• Must have excellent face to face customer service skills
• Must be able to work at either our Tempe or Mesa locations
• Must have Passenger 'P' Endorsement (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a physical examination
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Keolis does not sponsor visas for this position

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers feel welcome
• Effectively communicate with passengers especially in the event of service disruptions
• Provide passengers with assistance as needed
• Accommodate passengers with information such as schedule, guidance, etc.
• Ensure safe on-road operations while maintaining on-time performance
• Familiarity with assigned routing and detours
• Awareness of ADA Policies and Procedures
• Understanding of ADA Compliance
• Proper operation of all wheelchair lifts, for each bus model
• Report immediately to dispatch any vehicular accident or passenger incident and follow the incident and accident reporting procedures
• Collect the prescribed fares and notify dispatch of any type of fare evasion or fraud
• Perform pre and post trip inspections and enter all defects into the ZONAR system
• Follow exact deadhead routing and their assigned revenue service routes
• Depart the start of each route exactly on-time and never operate ahead of schedule
• Report any bunching of buses or other problems that may disrupt scheduled service
• Perform other duties as assigned
