About The Position

Les’ Sanitary, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-conscious Local CDL Route Driver to join our team in Coos Bay, OR. As a driver, you will be operating an Automated truck collecting solid waste and transporting it to appropriate disposal sites. This position requires you to work independently. Drivers are expected to deliver excellence in customer service at all times. You will be cross-trained in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks. Schedule: 3:00-5:00 am start time (Depending on Route), Done when routes are finished. (8-11 Hour days.) Monday-Friday, occasional Saturdays. 40+ hours/week, Full-time, Year-round work!

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement (Required)
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Background Check
  • MVR Check (Clean Driving Record)
  • Drug screen
  • Physical Capacity exam

Nice To Haves

  • Cross-trained in Automated Side Load Garbage Trucks, Front Load Garbage Trucks, and Roll Off Trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Read route sheets and work orders using a tablet to service each customer, or as assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, moving waste bins to positions accessible by truck, and closing all enclosure gates as necessary, at times with no helpers.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
  • Clean up the area around accidental waste spills.
  • Complete daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment.
  • Fuel vehicle daily.
  • Maintain the physical appearance of the equipment, including routine washing.
  • Monitor over and under filled carts/containers to assess changing service requirements.
  • Monitor the condition and repair needs of existing carts/containers.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
