About The Position

PSI Environmental Systems, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-conscious Local CDL Garbage Truck Driver to join our team in Twin Falls, ID! Year-Round Work - No Seasonal Layoffs Guaranteed Overtime Guaranteed Hourly $/hr Rate. 1.5x Overtime after 40hrs. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM start time. - Ending when the route is complete, generally 8-11 hour day. Occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

  • Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement
  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws.
  • Ability to work a physically demanding job.
  • Loading and unloading cans with no helpers.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments
  • Must pass criminal background check, drug panel screening and motor vehicle report to be eligible for employment.
  • Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass pre-employment examinations including: Drug screen, Background check, Clean MVR (Driving Record), Physical capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
  • Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
  • Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, moving waste bins to positions accessible by truck, and closing all enclosure gates as necessary, at times with no helpers.
  • Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
  • Clean up the area around accidental waste spills.
  • Complete daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment; Fuels vehicle daily.
  • Maintain the physical appearance of the equipment, including routine washing.
  • Monitor over and under filled carts/containers to assess changing service requirements; Monitors the condition and repair needs of existing carts/containers.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Operating an Automated truck collecting solid waste and transporting it to appropriate disposal sites.
  • Work independently while also collaborating with a team of six other drivers to coordinate routes and balance workload, ensuring all assigned areas are completed.
