The UNC Formerly Incarcerated Transition (FIT) Program is a partnership between UNC Family Medicine, the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (DAC), Federally Qualified Health Centers, County Departments of Health, community-based organizations, and local reentry councils. The FIT Program coordinates with existing state and local resources to assist people coming out of incarceration with connections to essential medical services. The program hinges on Community Health Workers (CHWs) who connect eligible clients with chronic disease, mental illness, and/or substance use disorder to appropriate health care services. FIT CHWs also help clients put together comprehensive reentry plans working with local reentry partners and community resources. This position is responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative, research, and program support for the FIT Program. Responsibilities include calendar and scheduling support, processing invoices, assisting with project budgets and grant reports, assisting with program activities and events, coordinating team communications, and other administrative duties as assigned by the FIT Program Manager. Additional duties include support of FIT research activities, including data collection and entry, data cleaning, and assisting with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, among other research related activities.
