About The Position

At GDIT, people are our differentiators. We deliver clarity and capability in the moments that matter most. We are seeking full-time Program Support Specialists to support the CDC's Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology (OPHDST) at the Roybal campus in Atlanta, GA. OPHDST leads CDC's agency-wide Data Modernization Initiative — the effort to turn fragmented public health data into a connected, near-real-time enterprise. Delivering that mission takes a strong layer of people who keep the work moving: tracking the action items, coordinating across teams, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. This is a high-visibility CDC priority, and this is the role that keeps it on track day to day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5 + years of experience providing program, project, or operational support in a professional environment — ideally a federal health, government, or comparable mission-driven setting.
  • Proven ability to work directly with customers and leadership: taking direction, coordinating across teams, and following through independently.
  • Strong organization, tracking, and reporting skills — comfortable owning action items and keeping work visible and on schedule.
  • Professional communication and a service orientation in a customer-facing role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint) and common tracking/collaboration tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDC Public Trust clearance and CDC badge.
  • Local to the Atlanta metro and within commuting distance of the Roybal campus — on-site presence is required (this is not a fully remote role).

Nice To Haves

  • Current or recent CDC/HHS experience, badge, or familiarity with OPHDST/DDPHSS or an adjacent office.
  • A variety of experience supporting federal programs — coordination, tracking, reporting, and stakeholder support across different tasks and teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated reliability and results over credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with CDC stakeholders and GDIT program leadership, taking direction and turning it into tracked, completed action.
  • Build and maintain action-item trackers, status reports, and coordination tools that keep activities visible and on schedule.
  • Navigate a complex, multi-stakeholder organization — finding the right people, chasing the open items, and closing the loop.
  • Own your own action items end to end while supporting the broader team's deliverables and deadlines.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, capture and distribute notes, and manage document version control and filing.
  • Support tracking, reporting, and information-gathering across program tasks, applying sound judgment to keep things accurate and complete.

Benefits

  • 401K with company match.
  • Professional growth opportunities including paid education and certifications.
  • Paid vacation and holidays (for eligible employees).
  • Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness packages.
  • Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career.
