About The Position

The Fishing Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including promptly and warmly greeting customers, handling merchandise carefully, and providing information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a high standard of customer service and helps create a pleasant and productive shopping experience. The outfitter demonstrates products, maintains product knowledge through ongoing training, and assists customers with purchasing decisions and relevant store programs.

The position also involves replenishing and restocking merchandise, maintaining pricing and signage, assisting with seasonal floor merchandise moves, and keeping the work area clean, neat, and supplied. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment and opportunities to recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale register system.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing or walking throughout the shift and handling objects of varying weights, with team lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner; provide information, assistance, and direction.
• Support a strong commitment to customer service and help ensure a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products to customers and maintain product expertise through ongoing training.
• Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Replenish and restock merchandise in accordance with merchandising guidelines.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices.
