About The Position

The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining merchandise and displays, and helping customers make informed buying decisions. The position operates under general supervision, following established procedures while using occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, or similar structures.
• Ability to occasionally repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Ability to occasionally operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment.
• Ability to occasionally work in tight or confined spaces and noisy environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and help ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products to customers and provide information, assistance, and direction.
• Identify and evaluate customers’ needs and recommend products based on that assessment.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
• Remain knowledgeable about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
