About The Position

The Fishing Sales Associate performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining merchandise and pricing, and helping customers make informed buying decisions through needs assessment and product recommendations. The associate also promotes programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale register system.
• Ability to perform the listed physical activities and handle light work, including moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support a high standard of customer service and help ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Demonstrate products to customers and provide recommendations based on their needs.
• Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
• Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines and requirements.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signing.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
