About The Position

The Fishing Associate performs selling and customer service activities, greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining merchandise and displays, and helping customers make informed buying decisions. The associate remains knowledgeable about products and advertised sales, promotes relevant programs, and follows company policies and procedures. Tasks are performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment and recommendations on work practices.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
• Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
• Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing or walking throughout the shift and moving objects up to 20 pounds constantly; occasionally lifting objects up to 100 pounds or more with team lifting as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and provide a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner.
• Demonstrate products to customers and provide information, assistance, and direction.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs, make product recommendations, and promote programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of products through ongoing training and stay informed about advertised sales, pricing, and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
