About The Position

The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer-service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining product knowledge, replenishing merchandise, and assisting customers with buying decisions and relevant in-store programs. The position works under general supervision and follows established procedures while using innovation and occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and resolve problems. The employee may choose among limited alternatives when addressing issues and often makes recommendations regarding work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
Ability to occasionally climb or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, or similar structures.
Ability to constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
Ability to occasionally perform repeated motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment.
Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.
Ability to occasionally work in tight or confined spaces and noisy environments.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner.
Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and provide a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
Demonstrate products to customers.
Identify and evaluate customer needs and make product recommendations based on that analysis.
Promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines and as required.
Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Use occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and resolve problems, and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices.
