About The Position

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to grow your skills and support an important statewide program? The Department of Labor & Industry is searching for a Fiscal Technician to join the Bureau of Workers Compensation, Directors Office. This position gives you the opportunity to play a key role in supporting financial operations by reviewing data, supporting program needs, and helping to maintain accurate records. Bring your attention to detail and problem solving skills to our office to help us keep our programs running smoothly! In this role, you will be supporting the financial activities of the Uninsured Employers Guaranty Fund by reviewing data, validating transactions, and helping resolve discrepancies. Work involves ensuring financial information is accurate and required reports and processes are completed on time.

Requirements

• One year as a Fiscal Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Examine expenses, revenue, and reports to ensure accuracy
• Compare information from WCAIS, TPA reports, SAP, and Treasury postings to identify inconsistencies
• Research and resolve problems in financial records and explain unusual findings
• Compile checks and invoices, verify information, and support required processing steps
• Produce weekly, monthly, and year end reports and summarize information for leadership
• Enter and maintain accurate financial data in WCAIS and support system improvements
