About The Position

JMU’s School of Professional & Continuing Education (SPCE) collaborates with individuals, business, and communities through transformative educational programs and experiences. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off-campus degree and certificate programs. SPCE seeks a Fiscal Support Coordinator to support internal staff, external partners, and to directly assist our Financial & Operations Manager. This position will perform administrative tasks related to all SPCE programming including fiscal processes, departmental reporting, hiring actions, and budget updates.

Requirements

  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative forms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook and Excel
  • Proficiency with mathematics
  • Attention to detail and ability to organize multiple sources of information
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)

Responsibilities

  • Entering and tracking of hiring actions (ePARs, paper PARs, etc.) for all our credit bearing programs
  • Collecting and organizing paperwork backup for all transactions included in our Monthly Reconciliation reporting
  • Running queries and reports from PeopleSoft systems (HR Management, Finance, Student Administration)
  • Updating existing program budgets with query and report data
  • Drafting and submitting various funds transfer documents
  • Processing departmental purchases, payments, and funds transfers
  • Identifying and tracking program level expenses
  • Cross-training and providing backup for other operations staff as needed
  • Documenting departmental processes and policies
  • Working with Finance & Operations Manager to continually improve internal processes
  • Other duties as assigned
