The Continuing Education and PRSP (psychiatric residency stipend program) Coordinator performs advanced consultative and technical work under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Texas State Hospital System. The Coordinator works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. The Coordinator locates and promotes continuing education opportunities for state hospital staff, maintains a database of ongoing learning opportunities, and secures contracts for staff learning tools and resources serving as subject- matter expert (SME) for these contracts. The Coordinator collaborates and supports the Patient Safety and Research Coordinator with educational initiatives and administrative tasks in regard to the smooth functioning of the Institutional Review Board Committee. The Coordinator communicates with community relations staff to track and report the number of clinical trainees/interns engaged in patient-care activities each quarter across the state hospital system. The Coordinator serves as the SME for all Psychiatry Residency Stipend Program (PRSP) contracts with academic institutions and community organizations. The Coordinator is responsible for all programmatic activities including PRSP funding requests, funding negotiations, deliverables tracking, contractor training, and day-to-day processing of invoices and customer service to contractors. The Coordinator collaborates with CMO on the goals and objectives of the PRSP program as it evolves each year. Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned include actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
