About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a highly motivated professional to join the team as a Fiscal Officer with the College of Engineering. This full-time, state-funded administrative faculty position provides fiscal leadership and administrative support to the College and reports directly to the Dean. The Fiscal Officer serves as the senior fiscal and administrative leader for the college, providing strategic financial planning, budget oversight, executive-level advising, and operational leadership. This position develops and implements long-term financial strategies, oversees complex budgets and multiple funding sources, ensures compliance with federal, state, NSHE, and university regulations, and provides data-driven recommendations to support organizational decision-making. The role serves as a key advisor to leadership on financial sustainability, resource allocation, staffing, and new initiatives, while also leading fiscal staff, establishing effective business processes, promoting accountability and continuous improvement, and managing special projects that support the college's strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field and four (4) years of related professional experience; OR Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of related professional experience
  • Related Experience: Leadership in an academic or related environment to include fiscal management, managing resource allocation processes, budget preparation and/or strategic planning, and directly supervising employees
