About The Position

The First Steps 4K Assistant Teacher helps provide a safe, healthy, nurturing and inclusive learning environment for young children. The role supports children’s education, care, social and emotional development, and kindergarten readiness using the South Carolina First Steps 4K curriculum, Creative Curriculum, and Brain Connect programs. Teachers build relationships with children and families, share children’s daily experiences and milestones through the school app and personal conversations, and work as part of a supportive team. Positions are available at two Charleston-area locations.

Requirements

Passion for working with young children.
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to pass background checks and health assessments.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for child safety and emergencies.
ECD 101 or higher for assistant teachers.

Nice To Haves

At least six months of experience at a licensed childcare center is preferred.
