About The Position

Lead firmware engineers and oversee, while also contributing hands-on to, the design, development, and maintenance of embedded firmware and software for Super I/O (SIO) and Embedded Controller (EC) chip products used in enterprise-class PC platforms, including desktops, workstations, notebooks, and all-in-one systems. Oversee firmware architecture and software design across multiple generations of SIO and EC products, including boot flow, low-level drivers, system services, and firmware frameworks. Lead the definition and implementation of complex firmware features, including thermal monitoring, fan control, power management, and hardware-software interaction mechanisms that combine firmware logic with silicon capabilities. Act as the primary technical authority for SIO and EC firmware, conducting design reviews, code reviews, and architectural assessments to ensure correctness, performance, security, and maintainability. Develop firmware primarily in C, working directly in bare-metal and RTOS-based environments and supporting integration with system BIOS and platform firmware. Collaborate with hardware and validation teams and global customers to define requirements, assess technical constraints, and develop customer-specific firmware features and solutions. Serve as a key interface for strategic customers, troubleshooting complex firmware- and silicon-related issues, analyzing root causes, and delivering corrective actions. Design and implement security-related firmware functionality, including cryptographic mechanisms, secure boot flows, and device identity features for products used in platform security and Root of Trust solutions. Support proof-of-concept activities for new technologies and future product directions. Debug complex firmware, hardware, and system-level issues using hardware and software debugging tools, and guide engineering teams in resolving critical customer escalations. Mentor and guide firmware engineers to support consistent implementation practices and successful project execution.
