Fireman
About The Position
The Fireman operates the plant boiler, wastewater pre-treatment system, and membrane processes. The role monitors boiler and wastewater systems, responds to upsets, conducts boiler water analyses, collects NPDES compliance samples, and performs general area housekeeping. The Fireman also attends monthly safety meetings, participates in the BBS program, schedules vacation coverage, and monitors the gate during off hours. Candidates are expected to have a 2nd Class Firemen License. A high school diploma, associate degree, or certificate program is preferred. Chemical manufacturing experience, one year of experience loading and off-loading chemicals, familiarity with Solenis products in Chicopee, and a solid understanding of Chicopee’s shipping process and customer base are also identified.
