About The Position

The Kiln Fireman communicates with employees in the Burning, Setting, and Dehacking Departments. The role uses a computer to enter quality data, make process changes, generate reports, and monitor process variables. The Fireman develops strong knowledge of drying and firing equipment and operations.

Requirements

• Ability to learn other jobs and fill in when needed.
• Ability to operate and reset transfer cars and haulages.
• Ability to keep track of car positions.
• Ability to use hand tools to perform minor repairs and make adjustments.
• Ability to communicate with supervision about production, quality, and safety issues.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
• Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes are required.
