Requirements

NFPA Firefighter I and II certifications.
Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certifications.
EMT or EMR certification from Indiana or the National Registry.
Out-of-state certifications must be transferred to Indiana within 90 days.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet applicable state, county, and local certification requirements for EMT or EMR certification.
Ability to meet the physical and certification requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Respond to fire, medical, hazardous-materials, weather, and facility emergencies.
Perform fire suppression using apparatus, hydrants, hose stations, and extinguishers.
Conduct vehicle, machinery, high-angle, and low-angle rescue operations.
Provide medical response, patient care, triage, stabilization, and transport.
Communicate incident details to dispatch, supervisors, and medical staff.
Assist with hazardous-materials spill containment.
Perform patrols, escorts, access control, and reporting as needed.
Complete required reports and logs.
