About The Position
AMR is hiring a part-time Firefighter EMT in Glenwood, Illinois. The role combines firefighting and patient care and focuses on delivering high-quality care. Firefighters respond to emergency fire scenes, assist with fire suppression, operate fire equipment and apparatus, and conduct search and rescue, ventilation, and salvage operations. The position also includes conducting fire and home safety inspections, fire extinguisher inspections, and pre-fire planning inspections. The Firefighter EMT works collaboratively and professionally with allied health and public safety personnel, fellow firefighters, and government agencies, and participates in community programs to support the company’s image and community relations. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- State driver's license.
- State-issued Illinois BOF certification.
- State-issued EMT-B certification.
- Current AHA CPR/AED certification.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency fire scenes and assist with fire suppression using appropriate extinguishing agents.
- Operate fire equipment and gear for fire suppression and control.
- Drive and operate fire apparatus.
- Conduct search and rescue, ventilation, and salvage operations.
- Conduct fire safety, home safety, fire extinguisher, and pre-fire planning inspections.
- Work professionally with allied health and public safety personnel, fellow firefighters, and government agencies.
- Participate in community programs to maintain the company image and establish strong community relations.
