About The Position

The Firearms Sales Associate maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise carefully, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The associate helps customers make purchasing decisions, completes required firearms paperwork, demonstrates products, maintains merchandise and displays, and keeps current on product knowledge, advertised sales, pricing, and signage. The position operates under general supervision and uses established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and recommend improvements to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Customer service and sales knowledge for firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.

Nice To Haves

• 0–2 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a pleasant and productive shopping experience and a legendary experience for every customer.
• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner.
• Identify and evaluate customer needs and recommend products based on that assessment.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Complete ATF Form 4473 thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise for sales at the gun counter.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
