Firearms Sales Associate (Full Time)
About The Position
The Firearms Sales Associate maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant, productive shopping experience by greeting and assisting customers, handling merchandise with care, and providing information and direction. The associate helps customers make buying decisions, maintains merchandise and the sales area, and stays knowledgeable about products, promotions, and applicable firearms regulations. Duties are performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment and recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–2 years of retail experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
- Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
- Knowledge of firearms and ammunition customer service and sales, including GCA.
- Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, prompt customer service and contribute to a productive shopping experience.
- Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
- Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
- Ensure ATF Form 4473 paperwork is completed thoroughly and accurately.
- Demonstrate products to customers when appropriate.
- Organize and maintain merchandise at the gun counter and throughout the retail store.
- Replenish shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training and stay informed about advertised sales, pricing, and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor-merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
