About The Position
Ferguson is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer for an on-site position based in Warren, Massachusetts. The designer develops fire system designs and supporting documentation, analyzes building plans and project specifications to identify requirements, and performs the hydraulic analysis and technical calculations needed to complete designs. The role also assists with equipment and method selection and helps optimize fabrication data using applicable best practices and requirements. The designer leads and teaches adoption of software platforms and tools.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Nice To Haves
- Engineering design experience and certification.
- Fire sprinkler design experience.
- NICET Certification.
Responsibilities
- Develop fire system designs, including sprinkler layouts, pipe routing, hanger placement, hydraulic calculations, and related design tasks.
- Produce supporting documents, files, and services for fire system designs.
- Assist in selecting appropriate equipment and methods for system designs.
- Analyze building plans, project specifications, and building types to identify design requirements.
- Confirm the hazard design criteria required for each design.
- Perform hydraulic analyses and technical calculations needed to complete designs.
- Apply best practices and requirements to optimize fabrication data.
- Lead and teach adoption of software platforms and tools.
