About The Position

Ferguson is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to develop fire system designs, including layout, pipe routing, hanger placement, and hydraulic calculations. This role involves producing supporting documents, selecting equipment, analyzing building plans, and confirming design criteria. The designer will perform hydraulic analysis, optimize fabrication data using best practices, and lead the adoption of new software platforms and tools. This position is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Engineering design experience & certification preferred
• Fire Sprinkler design experience preferred
• NICET Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops fire system designs, including fire sprinkler layout, pipe routing, hanger placement, hydraulic calculations, and other fire system design related tasks.
• Performs the production of supporting documents, files, and services for fire system designs.
• Assists in the selection of appropriate equipment and methods for incorporation into system design.
• Analyzes building plans, project specifications, building type to identify design requirements.
• Confirms the design criteria (hazard) required for the design.
• Performs the hydraulic analysis and or technical calculations needed to complete design.
• Utilizes the best practices and requirements to optimize fabrication data.
• Leads and teaches the adoption of cutting-edge software platforms and tools.
