About The Position

Ahern is hiring for a Fire Protection Shop position in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The work primarily involves material handling, machine operation, and threading piping for fire protection systems. Additional duties may include banding and bundling pipe, using a crane and cart system to move pipe throughout the shop, sweeping the shop, and cleaning equipment. This is a full-time first-shift position, typically scheduled four 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Friday overtime as needed. Compensation is $19.88 per hour under the current Local 669 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Meet the required norms on an aptitude test.
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, bend, and crouch throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Follow safety regulations, including use of hearing, hand, knee, and foot safety equipment.
