About The Position

Silco Fire & Security is hiring a full-time, field-based Fire Inspection Sales Consultant in Columbus, Ohio. The role focuses on winning new customers and cross-selling existing customers on inspections of fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire alarms, exit and emergency lighting, and suppression systems. Ohio Fire Code requires fire protection equipment to be inspected at least annually, creating an ongoing need for inspection services. The consultant will prospect and cold call, research leads, build a territory pipeline, prepare proposals, follow up to close business, meet performance standards, grow a book of business, and keep accurate sales records. Silco Fire & Security protects lives and property for more than 45,000 businesses across Ohio, Kentucky, and surrounding states. Founded in 1931, the family-owned company designs, installs, inspects, services, and monitors fire protection and security systems. It has more than 500 team members across seven branches. Silco describes itself as an eight-time Top Workplaces winner and an Inc. 5000 fastest-growing private company, with approachable leadership and advancement opportunities across branches and departments. The position requires business-to-business sales experience, willingness to cold call, strong follow-up and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and online research tools, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A high school diploma or GED, reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and driving record meeting Silco's insurance requirements are required. A car allowance is provided. Preferred qualifications include service or recurring-contract sales experience and familiarity with fire protection or facilities services. The position has physical demands that include working at heights, climbing ladders and using lifts, moving items up to 50 pounds, frequent standing and other movement, using tools and testing equipment, working in confined or outdoor spaces, wearing PPE, and driving company vehicles when needed. Employment offers are contingent on a background check and drug screen; driving positions also require a motor vehicle record review.
