About The Position

The Town of Orono is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to serve as a Fire/EMS Support Specialist within the Orono Fire Department. This position provides critical administrative and operational support to Fire Department leadership and plays an essential role in advancing the Department’s mission of delivering responsive, accountable, and community-focused fire and emergency services. The Fire/EMS Support Specialist provides comprehensive support to ensure the efficient coordination of financial processes, data management, compliance documentation, and departmental programs. This role serves as a key internal resource, supporting accounts payable and receivable functions, grant development, performance reporting, and records management in alignment with Town policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Working closely with Fire Department command staff and other Town departments, the Specialist also supports community risk reduction initiatives, public outreach efforts, and departmental projects that advance strategic priorities.
