About The Position

CP Services is an Aboriginal owned, full-service facilities expert, employing a team of nearly 100 skilled trade professionals and support staff. Our success is built on long-term relationships and values of safety, respect, Integrity, reliability, and team focus. We are seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This role involves the inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components. The position requires strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for sales of new fire alarm systems and components, and meticulous documentation of all work performed.

Requirements

  • Valid CFAA Registration
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Fire Detection, Special Hazards, and programming addressable fire alarm panels.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA, ULC, and applicable Fire Codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technologically adept with mobile devices and laptops.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance (background check, pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, references).
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Diagnose condition of existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Recommend best-fit solutions for existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Service and repair existing fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Sales of new fire alarms and related components.
  • Assembly and installation of new and replacement fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Communication of inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Documentation of inspections, diagnoses, preventative maintenance, recommendations, construction, service/repair, and installation of fire alarm infrastructure, equipment, and related components.
  • Follow safety guidelines, approved processes, and procedures on the job site.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity.
  • Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors.
  • Communicate in a polite and courteous manner.
