About The Position

Quantum North America is seeking a full-time Fire Alarm Service Supervisor (Maintenance Technician) to perform skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance. This role involves providing field leadership, ensuring quality assurance, supporting training, and managing escalations. The position requires a Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) and involves working with electrical and mechanical systems, supervising a team, teaching advanced maintenance skills, and analyzing complex building system problems. The role also includes performing and overseeing daily fire alarm service operations such as inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and maintenance in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable codes. The supervisor will provide technical guidance and field support to fire alarm technicians, assist with training and development, communicate with customers, coordinate manpower and materials, and ensure accurate documentation using service management software.

Requirements

  • Prior Texas Fire Alarm License (FAL) required.
  • Texas FAL License required.
  • 5+ years of fire alarm service and/or installation experience
  • Must have one of the following: Master license in one trade or two of the following Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or a Journeyman Plumber License, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET certification strongly preferred (or actively working toward it)
  • Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, troubleshooting, and NFPA codes
  • Possess any necessary licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
  • Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
  • Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
  • Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
  • Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
  • Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Perform and oversee daily fire alarm service operations including inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, maintenance, and small project work in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable codes.
  • Provide technical guidance and field support to fire alarm technicians while assisting with training, onboarding, scheduling, and development of service personnel.
  • Communicate with customers regarding system deficiencies, service recommendations, repair solutions, and project updates while serving as an escalation point for service-related concerns.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, service requests, and system alerts to maintain efficient response times and support overall department operations.
  • Ensure accurate completion of service documentation, inspection reports, billing information, and closeout reporting while utilizing service management software and office tools.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and quality workmanship while helping support the continued growth and development of the fire alarm service division.
