As a Fire Alarm Installer, you’ll master diverse proprietary and non-proprietary electronic fire alarm systems and engage in hands-on work, from installation to programming. You’ll make a real difference in safety by identifying, documenting and solving complex problems as an expert in alarm technology plus have the opportunity to develop additional skills with ongoing learning and certifications. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • EL-06 License (required)
  • 4+ years in fire alarm installation
  • 2+ years in fire alarm inspections, maintenance, and/or repairs
  • Understanding of NEC (low voltage) and NFPA 72
  • Familiarity with water-based fire sprinkler systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, utility vaults (confined spaces), above ceilings, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times

Nice To Haves

  • NICET II (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, program and configure fire alarm systems and equipment at customer sites
  • Test and inspect fire alarm systems, batteries and electrical wiring
  • Ensure work complies with relevant codes including NFPA standards
  • Complete inspection and correction reports and maintain required records
  • Convey system operations to customers and respond to emergency service calls
  • Embrace opportunities to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities
