Fire Alarm Installer
About The Position
Piper Electric, a Crete United Company, is seeking a Fire Alarm Installer to join its low-voltage and life safety team. The role installs, tests, troubleshoots, and commissions commercial fire alarm systems according to project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable codes. Work includes reading blueprints and wiring diagrams, installing conduit and devices, pulling and terminating cable, assisting with system startup, and meeting Piper Electric’s quality standards. The position supports a variety of commercial construction and service projects throughout Colorado and involves work in commercial and governmental buildings.
Requirements
- Experience with fire alarm systems is required.
- Strong knowledge of alarm system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and maintain alarm systems in commercial and governmental buildings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine system layout and installation.
- Install conduit and devices, and pull and terminate cable.
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, and commission fire alarm systems.
- Assist with system startup.
- Provide technical support to customers regarding alarm system operation and maintenance.
- Complete work in accordance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and Piper Electric’s quality standards.
