About The Position

The Finishing Room Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finishing room, ensuring products are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established quality standards. This position provides hands-on leadership to finishing room employees, coordinates workflow, monitors production schedules, and supports continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience required.
  • Previous experience in a finishing, assembly, production, or quality-control environment preferred.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials as required by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily finishing room activities and production priorities.
  • Assign work to employees and ensure adequate staffing to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor production schedules, workflow, and finished-product output.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality, appearance, and customer specifications.
  • Train, coach, and support finishing room employees on processes, equipment, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures and established work instructions.
  • Identify and address quality issues, production delays, and workflow problems.
  • Operate and oversee finishing equipment as required.
  • Perform or coordinate equipment adjustments, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Monitor material usage and minimize waste, rework, and downtime.
  • Communicate production issues, quality concerns, and staffing needs to management.
  • Complete required production, quality, and safety documentation.
  • Assist with inventory control and proper handling of materials and finished goods.
  • Support implementation of process improvements designed to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Serve as a positive example of teamwork, dependability, professionalism, and safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
