About The Position

Davis Tool is expanding and adding a second shift to support their growing metal finishing operations. They are seeking a hands-on Second Shift Supervisor to lead a small team of operators while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is ready to take ownership of shift performance. The work week is Monday – Friday, with a Swing Shift from 3:15 PM – 11:45 PM, which includes a 5% shift differential. Initial training will occur on Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of process control, quality standards, and production flow.
  • Ability to read work orders, specifications, and technical instructions.
  • Comfortable working in a chemical processing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the shift.
  • A working supervisor who leads by example on the floor.
  • Someone who can balance production output, quality, and safety.
  • A leader who can build accountability and teamwork on a small shift.
  • A proactive thinker who identifies issues before they become problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train and develop a small team of metal finishing operators.
  • Oversee daily cleaning, anodizing, and zinc plating operations to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinate workflow, prioritize jobs, and communicate with Day Shift.
  • Ensure all parts are processed according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor chemical tanks, line conditions, and process parameters.
  • Enforce safety procedures, PPE compliance, and environmental requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Assist Plant Manager with inventory management, quoting jobs and AS9100 compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, quality, and safety.
