About The Position

Christman Southeast Constructors is seeking Finishers in the Knoxville, Tennessee region. The role involves finishing concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work at project or job sites. Finishers use required tools and follow material procedures while meeting company quality and safety standards. The position is full time; occasional extended hours and weekend work may apply. Reliable transportation is required, along with willingness to travel up to 60 miles per day depending on project location relative to the employee’s home. Candidates must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer. Employment is contingent on successful pre-employment screening, including drug and background screening.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in concrete construction.
• Understand safety rules and tool and equipment instructions.
• Ability to take measurements and make calculations.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Pass any skills tests required by the jobsite.
• Ability to solve problems when errors occur.
• Keep tools and workspace organized.
• Be conscious of schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel up to 60 miles per day, depending on project location.
• Must provide own hand tools; power tools are provided by Christman.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including drug and background screening.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• OSHA 10-hour certification.

Responsibilities

• Smooth and finish poured concrete surfaces on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.
• Spread concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
• Level and shape concrete and finish freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.
• Use required tools to complete assigned tasks and follow material procedures.
• Arrange and construct concrete forms.
• Load, transport, and unload tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
• Observe and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with related carpentry tasks as required.
• Ensure work meets company quality standards.
• Keep the immediate work area clean and organized.
