About The Position

Christman Southeast Constructors is hiring a Finisher for its Knoxville, Tennessee region. The Finisher smooths and finishes poured concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work, and helps complete related carpentry tasks as needed. The position is full-time; occasional extended hours and weekend work may apply. Reliable transportation is required, as employees must be willing to travel up to 60 miles per day depending on the project location relative to where they live. Applicants must have at least two years of experience in concrete construction. A high school diploma or GED and OSHA 10-hour certification are preferred. The role also requires understanding safety rules and tool and equipment instructions, taking measurements and making calculations, communicating effectively, solving problems, keeping tools and workspace organized, meeting schedules, maintaining regular and punctual attendance, tolerating heights, and passing any jobsite-required skills tests. Employees must provide their own hand tools; Christman provides power tools. Employment is contingent on successful completion of pre-employment screening, including drug and background screening. Requirements

At least two years of experience in concrete construction.
Understand safety rules and tool and equipment instructions.
Ability to take measurements and make calculations.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Pass any skills tests required by the jobsite.
Ability to problem-solve when errors occur.
Keep tools and workspace organized.
Be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.

Ability to tolerate heights without fear.

Responsibilities

Smooth and finish poured concrete surfaces on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.
Spread concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
Level and shape concrete and finish freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.
Use the required tools to complete assigned tasks and follow material procedures.
Arrange and construct concrete forms.
Load, transport, and unload tools, equipment, and supplies needed for projects.
Observe and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Assist with related carpentry tasks as required.
Ensure work quality meets company standards.
Keep the immediate working area clean.
